Rich’s Round Up – Week 11

Well, this won’t take long will it? 14 of the 18 games scheduled will need to be replayed at a later date, due to field closures (always a great relief to the varsity teams, when this happens during the holidays… clearly their rain dance worked!).

There were no games played in either the Championship or League 2 this week and of the 4 games played, three involved Zamantix teams at Billy Mack. The other was the Inter vs Indy derby at Seddon Fields. Still a total of 16 goals scored by six teams in the four fixtures,  10 of which game from boys representing Zamantix Rovers in League 1 and our Masters league.

In the Premiership, league leaders Zamantix Rovers were one of the eight teams unable to add to their goals scored tally, suffering their second consecutive loss (and third in the league). Boh’s Celtic 2 took the 3 points with a 2-0 win that see’s them go above Boh’s Celtic 1, who had the bye this week. Internationale secured a 2-1 win over Independiente in the other fixture, jumping two places from 4th to 2nd (thanks to the postponement of the Wanderers vs Volcanoes fixture).

In League 1, Zamantix Rovers Return had no trouble taking all three points off the bottom placed Nixon Park with a 5-0 victory that keeps the pressure on second place Auckland Wanderers reserves.

In the Masters league, Zamantix Rovers Old Boys came very close to replicating their League 1 side, but had to settle for a 5-1 victory against the bottom placed (still winless) Boys to Men Pukekohe team. The win saw them move into second place.

that’s all to report for this week. Only two postponements to report at this stage for week 12 so will have more to report next week.
